EXPO Center Antalya: What You Need to Know About Its Location and Features

gobelek-blog-expo-antalya.jpg

EXPO Center Antalya refers to the EXPO 2016 Antalya site, which was built for the 2016 World Botanical Expo and has since been transformed into a permanent exhibition, congress and event center. Located in Antalya's Aksu district, the site is about 11 kilometers from Antalya Airport and about 17 kilometers from the city center. Known for its extensive gardens, its lake and the EXPO Tower, which has become one of the city's landmarks, the site will host COP31 from November 9–20, 2026.

Before visiting the site, it's worth knowing one small detail: the ANFAŞ Exhibition Center near the airport is also referred to in English as "Antalya Expo Center". Although the two venues are close to each other, they are in different locations. The venue described in this guide is the EXPO 2016 site in Aksu.

How to Get to EXPO Center Antalya from Antalya Airport?

The roughly 11-kilometer distance between the airport and the EXPO site can be covered by car in a short time, depending on traffic. This proximity is a major advantage, especially for exhibition and congress attendees arriving from abroad.

The most practical ways to get from the airport to the site are taxis and pre-arranged transfers. You can go directly to the site from the taxi ranks at the terminal exit. During major events, shuttles provided by organizers or hotels are also available. If you're using a rental car, simply follow the road from the airport towards Aksu.

There is also an option for those who prefer the tram. AntRay's airport branch and EXPO branch split at the Yonca Kavşak stop. This means that to travel from the airport to EXPO by tram, you need to change at Yonca Kavşak. You can find the details in the public transport section.

During major events such as COP31, security checks and traffic arrangements may make the journey between the airport and the site take longer than usual. We recommend allowing for this extra time when planning around your flight.

Getting to EXPO Center Antalya from Antalya City Center

The EXPO site is about 17 kilometers from the city center. If you're driving, head east from the center towards the Antalya–Alanya highway (D400) and follow the signs for Aksu to reach the site. Entering "EXPO 2016 Antalya" into your navigation app is a safer way to avoid confusion with ANFAŞ.

A taxi is the most effortless way to get from the center to the site. However, city traffic during morning and evening rush hours can lengthen the journey. Setting off a little early for your event helps you avoid possible delays.

If you're arriving in Antalya by intercity bus, keep in mind that the distance between Antalya Bus Station and the EXPO site is about 24 kilometers. From the bus station, you can reach the site by taxi or by AntRay from the tram stop next to the bus station.

During major events, traffic arrangements and vehicle access restrictions may be in place around the site. During these periods, we recommend checking parking and vehicle access conditions in the event organizer's announcements.

Getting to EXPO Center Antalya by Public Transport

The main way to reach the EXPO site by public transport is the AntRay tram system. The line, extended from Meydan to the site for EXPO 2016, now operates as T1B (Fatih – EXPO) and is known as the city's longest tram line.

The route works as follows:

  • Shared section: The stops between Fatih and Yonca Kavşak are used by both airport and EXPO trams. Central stops such as Otogar, Meydan and İsmetpaşa (Kaleiçi) are on this section.

  • EXPO branch: After Yonca Kavşak, EXPO trams pass through the Pınarlı ANFAŞ, Kurşunlu and Aksu stops before reaching the EXPO stop.

  • Airport branch: Airport trams (T1A) continue to the terminals after Yonca Kavşak. If you're traveling from the airport to EXPO, you need to change at Yonca Kavşak.

Although the tram is an economical option, getting from the city center to the site takes longer than by car. Services on the EXPO branch may also be less frequent than on the airport branch. We therefore recommend checking current timetables on the official channels of Antalya Ulaşım A.Ş.

Fares on city public transport are paid with AntalyaKart. During major events such as COP31, additional services or event-specific shuttle routes may be arranged; you can follow such announcements on the organizers' official channels.
